This book is something of an “I wish I knew then what I know now” story.
I went through the DUI process and got burned by (a) bad advice, (b) an attorney who actually gave me wrong information, and (c) important information I needed to know but wasn’t available anywhere, not even the DMV website!
I found out what you need to know about the DUI process and am sharing that information here!
[Disclaimer: I am not an attorney and what I provide is not stated or implied legal advice. Legal advice is important and you should consult a qualified attorney for such. I’m just a highly educated man who went through a process and wants to share his insights. You can benefit from my experiences!]
DUI-NoMore: The DUI Handbook™ was written for people who received a DUI and don’t want to pay for an attorney. I went to court and in my opinion an attorney not only wasn’t needed, but I believe that having one actually cost me.
Yes, by hiring an attorney, it cost me about $2000 in lawyer fees and a chance of getting out of my DUI and having it replaced with the lesser charge of reckless driving.
Then there is the counseling. By sheer luck I stumbled onto a great counselor who told me the “inside story” of how the counseling bureaucracy works. While it is not written down anywhere, he told me the number of hours of counseling the bureaucrats require and the “right” kind of counseling.
I also learned how important it is to be prepared before your court date. I did nothing until after court and that cost me several more months before I could be back on the road. I should have been prepared so that immediately after court I could begin doing what was necessary to be driving as soon as possible. But, you need to know what to prepare for!
Of course, there is so much more you need to know!
As I mentioned at the beginning, this is something of an "I wish I knew then what I know now" story. And it is a story I want to share with you.
Everyone involved in the DUI legal process knows the system. Heck, they probably know each other and some may even friends. They know what you don’t know.
So, who is looking out for you? I am! I wrote this book so you can navigate the DUI system on your own without an attorney and get back on the road driving like a normal person as fast as possible.
